Ivy Tower

Our involvement with Ivy Tower evolved through two separate assignments that addressed both immediate compliance requirements and the property’s long-term resilience goals. The first engagement involved the structural recertification of the property’s two high-rise office towers and parking garage in accordance with Broward County’s Safety Inspection Program. Through detailed inspections, document review, and condition assessments, we evaluated accessible structural components and prepared the required recertification documentation to support continued safe operation of the complex.

Building on that work, we were subsequently retained to perform a comprehensive Building Systems Assessment focused on hurricane resilience and future capital planning. The study evaluated potential upgrades to roofing systems, rooftop equipment attachments, windows, elevator infrastructure, and precast panel connections, providing ownership with a roadmap for improving storm performance and reducing vulnerability to extreme weather events. Recommendations were benchmarked against current wind-resistance standards and expected hurricane risk scenarios, helping guide strategic investment decisions for the property.

Together, these two assignments combined immediate compliance objectives with forward-looking resiliency planning, providing ownership with a clear understanding of the building’s current condition and a practical path toward enhancing its long-term performance and durability.
