Spa And Deck Structure Renovation At Parc Village Condominium

This project consisted of a condition survey of the existing spa and deck structure, design, assistance during bidding and negotiations, and construction phase services (shop drawing/submittal reviews, project correspondence, progress meeting attendance, etc.). Working on the existing spa shell, slab on grade, retaining wall structure, and elevated wood deck, the property located at Parc Village Condominium in Plantation had many structural systems that needed to be addressed. This project received a new helical pile foundation and retaining wall to encase the newly designed spa and slab on grade. Due to existing conditions, the wooden plies from the existing wood deck were stabilized and incorporated into the new deck design. The project included:

  • Initial site investigation of existing structures where significant deterioration was observed
  • The design of a helical pile foundation, retaining wall, slab on grade, and elevated wood deck
  • Delegated Spa Engineering design
  • Observing the demolition of existing structures
  • Special inspections in relations to helical pile installation
  • Special inspections in relations to steel and concrete placement of all load bearing structural members
  • Special inspections of framing members for the wooden deck construction
  • Responding to field condition discrepancies and providing real time engineered solutions
  • Overseeing final grading and project completion
