Biller Reinhart Structural Group, Inc. provided structural engineering analysis for the re-roofing project on this high-rise building. The roof framing system was analyzed to estimate its structural capacity. Based on the analysis, staging areas were designated on the roof area for the re-roofing materials and a path was established for the removal of a chiller from the mechanical penthouse. Also,
BillerReinhart performed calculations to accommodate the demolition of an existing concrete frame on the penthouse roof. Saw cut locations and piece sizes were determined based on the crane capacity and roof structure capacity as the concrete pieces were staged on the roof prior to removal by the crane.
